The Kemimoto 16” Universal Soundbar has completely surpassed my expectations for a mounted sound system. In a sea of options for UTV/Golf Cart aftermarket sound systems it can be difficult to differentiate a product, but this one has. The unit fits my golf cart perfectly, provides more than enough volume, and after many uses I can confidently say that it integrates seamlessly into the enhanced golf cart experience. Ordinarily $249, this speaker is currently on sale for $169!
Kemimoto 16″ Soundbar Overview
A heavy-duty solid extruded aluminum housing protects the twin speakers and twin tweeters, amplifier, and sound board. The unit weighs nearly nine pounds, but once installed never sways or rattles, even with the modifications I made to the clamps. Once installed, the Kemimoto 16″ Universal Soundbar became a seamless part of the golf cart structure. It is strong and sleek, and matches perfectly with the cart structure.
The digital display is responsive, as are the command buttons on both the unit and the remote control. Once wired to the battery the stereo immediately comes to life when the key has been turned on, and connects to Bluetooth in under 6 seconds on average. The front of the unit is lined with color arrayed LED lights, and there is a light bar on the back of the unit that makes the whole thing very fun in low light conditions. The light patterns and colors are controlled easily with the remote control from up to 33ft away.
The Kemimoto UTV/Golf Cart speakers put out a terrific sound with a much richer tone than expected. It gets plenty loud at 400W capacity, however it is still crystal clear at lower volumes. This is something that other soundbars lack in a open air vehicle. The bass notes resonate fully, thanks in part to the solid construction of the stereo box.
Installation required some creativity on my golf cart, though it was expected. The oval bar clamps that attach the unit to the frame are built for a UTV rollbar. My (much less rugged) golf cart has the typical small square profile cross bar between the roof supports. As a result I needed to shim the remaining space with a couple small pieces of wood. I anticipated this discrepancy, and was worried that it would be an issue, but honestly it worked easily. The clamps are incredibly strong and well built, so they had no problem with the addition.
Powering the Kemimoto 16″ Soundbar was a bit more of a task. The unit comes with an easy to operate cigarette lighter power plug, however I didn’t want the cord running out of the dash, so I decided to hardwire the power supply. The necessary parts all come with the unit, however the instructions are very thin on how to attach everything. A got creative. I had already unplugged the horn that produces the reverse tone whenever the cart is backing up. The horn was already on the correct amp fuse, so the power supply was ideal. This worked great, though only when the cart was in reverse! To adjust for this I opened the dash and clipped the wire attached to the reverse switch, then spliced it back together. Works like a charm!
Ordinarily the Kemimoto 16” stereo is $249, though right now it is available for $169. It is worth it at the regular price, and a steal at the sale price.
