EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus vs DELTA 3 Max vs Max Plus: Capacity, Output, and Expansion Side by Side

October 27, 2026

Published October 27, 2026. Every figure on this page comes from EcoFlow’s US store pages, checked on October 27, 2026. This is a spec comparison, not a hands-on test, and runtime numbers are labeled arithmetic. Prices and shipping status change often, so confirm on EcoFlow’s page before you buy.

People searching “DELTA 3 Plus vs DELTA 3 Max” usually run into a naming problem first. EcoFlow sells a DELTA 3 Plus (1 kWh class), a DELTA 3 Max (2 kWh), and a DELTA 3 Max Plus (also 2 kWh, with more output and expansion). The Max and Max Plus share a capacity and almost the same case, so the real decision is usually one of two: do you need 1 kWh or 2 kWh, and if 2 kWh, is the Max Plus worth the extra money over the Max? This page puts all three side by side from EcoFlow’s own spec tables.

Index

Quick answer

  • DELTA 3 Plus: 1,024 Wh, 1,800 W AC (3,600 W surge), 1,500 W wall charging, up to 1,000 W solar across two inputs, about 27.6 lb. EcoFlow says it expands to 5 kWh with extra batteries. $719 on EcoFlow’s US store on October 27, 2026, listed as shipping mid-November.
  • DELTA 3 Max: 2,048 Wh, 2,400 W AC (4,800 W surge), 1,800 W wall charging, 500 W solar, 20.3 kg (about 44.8 lb). The US page lists no extra-battery expansion and notes it has an XT60 port only. $899 on October 27, 2026.
  • DELTA 3 Max Plus: 2,048 Wh, 3,000 W AC (6,000 W surge), 1,800 W wall charging, 1,000 W solar, a 30 A Anderson 12 V output, 22.1 kg (about 48.7 lb), and 2 to 10 kWh of expansion. $1,199 on October 27, 2026.
  • All three use LiFePO4 (LFP) cells, list a <10 ms UPS switchover, and carry EcoFlow’s 5-year warranty (on the Max and Max Plus, that’s 3 years standard plus 2 years after app registration).
  • Short version: pick the Max for the most watt-hours per dollar if 2 kWh is enough forever. Pick the Max Plus if you want to run heavier 120 V loads closer to 3,000 W, more solar, or room to grow. Pick the Plus if 1 kWh covers you and you want it lighter.

Two inconsistencies on EcoFlow’s own pages, so you know what to check. The DELTA 3 Plus page’s feature copy says X-Boost can run appliances “over 2600W,” but its spec table lists 2,200 W as the max device power with X-Boost. We use the spec-table figure. And the DELTA 3 Max Plus page shows an “In Stock Now, Ready to Ship” banner while several of its bundles say “Pre order, Ships in Late October.” Check the ship line on the exact option you pick.

Is the DELTA 3 Max the same as the DELTA 3 Max Plus?

No. They hold the same 2,048 Wh and look nearly identical, but EcoFlow sells them as separate models. Compared with the Max, the Max Plus adds 600 W more continuous AC output (3,000 W vs 2,400 W), a higher surge rating (6,000 W vs 4,800 W), double the solar input (1,000 W vs 500 W), a 30 A Anderson output for 12 V gear, faster USB-C, and expansion to 10 kWh. The Max is lighter by about 1.8 kg and was $300 cheaper on October 27. EcoFlow’s combined DELTA 3 Max series page sells both from one listing, which is part of why the names get mixed up.

1 kWh or 2 kWh: which size do you need?

Start with what you’d actually run. Watt-hours divided by your load in watts gives a rough upper bound on runtime. These are arithmetic, not tests, and inverter losses mean real numbers will come in lower.

Steady load (example)DELTA 3 Plus (1,024 Wh)DELTA 3 Max / Max Plus (2,048 Wh)
50 W (router, modem, a few LED lights)about 20 hrabout 41 hr
100 Wabout 10 hrabout 20 hr
300 Wabout 3.4 hrabout 6.8 hr
1,000 Wabout 1 hrabout 2 hr
Arithmetic only: rated Wh divided by load W, before inverter and conversion losses.

A refrigerator cycles on and off, so its average draw is much lower than its running watts. Our fridge and freezer runtime guide walks through how to estimate that from your own fridge’s label. For a modem and router, see router and modem battery backup; for a CPAP, CPAP backup battery.

Output: what each one can start and run

The DELTA 3 Plus’s 1,800 W AC limit covers most single kitchen appliances and power tools, but not two big ones at once. The Max raises that to 2,400 W and the Max Plus to 3,000 W. EcoFlow lists a 20 A max per outlet on both 2 kWh models. None of the three is listed with 240 V output on these US pages, so a 240 V well pump or dryer is out regardless of watts.

X-Boost is EcoFlow’s mode for resistive loads such as kettles and heaters: it lowers voltage so a device rated above the inverter limit can still run, at reduced power. It isn’t extra capacity, and it doesn’t help motors that need full voltage.

Charging: wall, solar, car, and generator

  • Wall: the Plus takes 1,500 W, and EcoFlow says a full charge takes 56 minutes. Both 2 kWh models take 1,800 W; EcoFlow quotes 0 to 80% in 68 minutes (Max) and 64 minutes (Max Plus). EcoFlow notes these are from its own lab testing in optimal conditions.
  • Solar: this is the biggest practical gap between the Max and the Max Plus. The Max accepts 500 W of solar; the Max Plus accepts 1,000 W. The Plus also accepts 1,000 W (two 500 W inputs) on half the battery, so it refills from solar faster than either 2 kWh unit on paper. EcoFlow says the Max goes 0 to 80% in 3.43 hours at 500 W, and the Max Plus 0 to 80% in 96 minutes at 1,000 W.
  • Generator: EcoFlow pairs the Max and Max Plus with its Smart Generator 4000 (Dual Fuel), sold separately. It quotes 0 to 80% in 43 minutes on the Max Plus at up to 2,600 W from the smart generator.
  • Vehicle: the Plus lists 800 W car charging. The 2 kWh models rely on EcoFlow’s separate alternator chargers (500 W for the Max, 800 W with an adapter or the upcoming 1,000 W unit for the Max Plus).

If you’re planning a balcony or plug-in setup instead, our plug-in solar rules by state page covers where that’s allowed.

Expansion: the reason to pay for the Max Plus

If you think you’ll want more than 2 kWh later, this row matters most. The Max Plus is listed at 2 to 10 kWh with EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 Max Plus Smart Extra Battery (2,048 Wh each) or DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries. Going past one extra battery needs EcoFlow’s Smart Extra Battery Expansion Adapter; one part of the page says the adapter is out in the US, while a footnote still says “will be released soon.”

The DELTA 3 Plus expands to a stated 5 kWh using the 1,024 Wh DELTA 3 Series Smart Extra Battery or DELTA 2, DELTA 2 Max, or DELTA Pro 3 extra batteries. The DELTA 3 Max’s US page lists no extra-battery option and says it has an XT60 port only, which is why reverse charging and battery-preservation modes are unavailable on it. Treat the Max as a fixed 2 kWh unit.

Cost per watt-hour

Dividing the October 27 store price by rated capacity (arithmetic, not a value judgment):

  • DELTA 3 Plus: $719 / 1,024 Wh, about $0.70 per Wh
  • DELTA 3 Max: $899 / 2,048 Wh, about $0.44 per Wh
  • DELTA 3 Max Plus: $1,199 / 2,048 Wh, about $0.59 per Wh

EcoFlow’s sale prices move every few weeks, so rerun this with the price you actually see.

Which one fits which job

  • Apartment outage kit, desk UPS, NAS, or weekend camping: the DELTA 3 Plus. It’s about 27.6 lb, has the most USB-C power of the three, and EcoFlow says it supports NAS shutdown through its PowerManager app and NUT.
  • Fridge-plus-essentials backup where 2 kWh is the ceiling: the DELTA 3 Max, which had the lowest cost per Wh on October 27.
  • RV, van, or cabin with a real solar array, heavier tools, or plans to grow: the DELTA 3 Max Plus, for the 1,000 W solar input, 3,000 W output, 30 A Anderson port, and expansion.

How do these compare with the DELTA 2 Max?

EcoFlow says the DELTA 3 Max Plus has 25% more power than the DELTA 2 Max, meaning output. If you’re weighing the older 2 kWh model, our EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max page, DELTA 2 Max vs DELTA Max, and BLUETTI AC200 Max vs EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max have those details. For the 1 kWh class, see the EcoFlow DELTA 2.

FAQ

What’s the difference between the DELTA 3 Plus and DELTA 3 Max?

Capacity first: 1,024 Wh vs 2,048 Wh. The Max also has more AC output (2,400 W vs 1,800 W) and faster wall charging (1,800 W vs 1,500 W), but less solar input (500 W vs 1,000 W), no listed expansion, and fewer USB-C watts. It weighs about 17 lb more.

Is the DELTA 3 Max Plus worth it over the DELTA 3 Max?

It is if you’ll use what it adds: 1,000 W solar input, 3,000 W output, the 30 A Anderson port, or expansion to 10 kWh. If you’ll only ever charge from the wall and stay under 2,400 W, the Max does the same 2,048 Wh for less.

Can you add an extra battery to the DELTA 3 Max?

EcoFlow’s US DELTA 3 Max page lists no extra-battery expansion and says the unit has an XT60 port only. The DELTA 3 Plus and DELTA 3 Max Plus both list expansion.

Do the DELTA 3 models work as a UPS?

EcoFlow lists a <10 ms switchover on all three. That’s fast enough for most computers and routers, but EcoFlow doesn’t claim it as a certified online UPS, so check your device’s tolerance if it’s critical.
